Dinesh Dhamija

Entrepreneur, politician and philanthropist Dinesh Dhamija emerged from the recession-hit streets of 1970s West London to create, build and sell ebookers.com - one of the world’s premier travel agencies and a pioneer in the millennial dot.com boom, earning himself a £100 million fortune.
Not content to retire gracefully into anonymity, Dhamija then focused his energies and talents on politics, winning a seat as a Member of the European Parliament for the Liberal Democrat party.
He also established two charitable foundations, giving thousands of Indian children access to better healthcare and education.
Continuing his business career, Dhamija invested in renewable energy development and now has the largest solar energy enterprise in Romania.
In Where the World Moves, Dhamija argues that the rich benefits to modern societies from migration - financial, social and cultural – need to be acknowledged,
celebrated and nurtured, counter to the rising tide of hostility towards migrants, which only makes us poorer and less content.
Dinesh Dhamija is the author of and autobiography - Book It! – and a study of India’s rise to become a modern day superpower, The Indian Century.
